Shaving cutters are measured with the option TShaver. The following shaving cutters can be inspected:

  • Parallel shaving cutters
  • Plunge shaving cutters
  • Diagonal shaving cutters

Measurement and evaluation of

With TShaver the following evaluations can be carried out:

  • Profile inspection
  1. Fa total profile deviation
  2. ffa profile form deviation
  3. fHa profile slope deviation
  4. Ca crowning height
  5. Determination of the active profile according to the re-sharpening
  6. Calculation of active profile portion based on gear data which has to be shaved
  7. Calculation of active profile portion based on actual tooth thickness
  8. Evaluation according to DIN 3961/62 or free tolerances
  • Lead inspection
  1. Fß total helix deviation
  2. ffß helix form deviation
  3. fHß helix slope deviation
  4. Cß crowning
  5. Evaluation according to DIN 3961/62 or to free tolerances

 

  • Pitch and run-out inspection
  1. fp single pitch error
  2. fu successive pitch error
  3. Fp total pitch error
  4. Fpz/8 Cumulative pitch error over k = z/8 pitches

  • Profile modification factor of the re-grind condition
  • Effective tip and root diameter
